What are you waiting for?

Psalm 130:5-6 I wait or The Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope; my soul waits for The Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.
Waiting in American culture is a word that no one likes to hear, it’s just a another means to be patient and be busy about what is on your plate for the day or week. The business of life creates habits leading to characteristics which then turns into a lifestyle. People wait for Friday to come to receive a pay check, they wait for 5 o’clock to roll around because it’s time to leave work or they wait for the weekend to relax and party with friends and family. I’m not saying any of these things are wrong or a sin I just want us to take a moment to think if you didn’t have a pay check coming and you didn’t have an 8 to 5 job or a family to fellowship with. What would you be waiting for?
For those who have been out of the country especially to a rule or third world place you have an idea of what I’m talking about. My time so far in the country of Cambodia has given me this drive and eagerness to wait and hear from God. From an outsiders perspective they would look at living conditions, dress, mal nutrition and think these people really must need help. Not knowing the whole time that these people have more joy and excitement about life than most Americans. From the way these people do life it’s changing my view and look at life, the hope of life and what all people are longing for is God and Gods word alone. Those who hope in The Lord will always be satisfied and never in need, though the waiting process is never easy it’s always worth it in the end. See God has this great and awesome plan for my life and for your as well but too many times I bring my own plan into it because I don’t want to wait and hear from God. The watchmen in the mornings wait and wait for days even weeks never seeing anything but always anticipating everything. When we’re praying and devoting our time for Jesus do we sit and wait with anticipation?
It’s been 6 months since my start of this year and only now am I getting a hold on what it means to fully wait for God to show up. With no set schedule and no future plans it’s a great place to be free from stress and worries. I want to leave us all with a challenge that may seem easy but truly take a moment. Are we bringing our plans into His plans? Or are we truly hoping and waiting For God who has brought you this far to do a miracle that will change your life forever?
Application- challenge myself to set my plans aside and truly wait for God to so something amazing.
